Roofing, gutters and skylights in Walnut Creek

Walnut Creek's mid-century tile roofs, oak and eucalyptus canopy, and hillside lots make both gutter maintenance and runoff routing important.

What we do

How we can help

Roofing

New roofs, replacements and repairs in asphalt, tile, metal and flat torch-down. We check the roof underneath as well as the covering you can see.

Rain gutters

We form aluminum and copper gutters at your home to fit each roof edge. If your existing gutters are still sound, we also handle repairs, cleaning and guards to help keep leaves out.

Skylights

VELUX skylights, 10 years leak-free

Add daylight to a dark room, replace an old unit or find out why one is leaking. We install VELUX skylights and fit the flashing that keeps rain from getting in around them.

Local conditions

What we see in Walnut Creek

Northgate and Saranap ranches, Rossmoor condominiums and custom hillside homes each bring different access and roof details. Tile needs careful handling when gutters are serviced or underlayment is inspected. On older eaves, staining can point to loose gutters or deteriorated fascia that must be assessed before new fixings go in. We check the roof-edge connection and valley metal too. A sound-looking tile surface doesn't tell the whole story about what is happening beneath it.

Eucalyptus bark can bridge an outlet, redwood needles can pass through coarse screens, and oak leaves can collect in wet layers. That means the gutter may need attention at several points rather than one visible pile. We look at the cover, channel and downspout entry to understand what is getting through. Removing debris also reveals the condition of the metal and wood beneath it. Any guard recommendation should account for the trees over your own roof.

Sloping lots need a deliberate route for water after it leaves the downspout. Overflow near a retaining wall or landscaped bank may be a sign to inspect the discharge as well as the gutter. Secure hangers and a correctly sloped run help carry water to the outlet, but the drainage line below must be able to receive it. We review those connections together so the proposed work doesn't leave the same pooling or washout further down the property.

Check the association's roof rules

If your home is in an association, get its current roofing requirements before choosing a material or color. The permitted profiles and finishes can affect the estimate as well as the schedule. Ask what samples or product information the review needs. Having that information early is easier than changing an agreed roof choice while approval is still outstanding.

Leaves above the skylight

The raised frame around a skylight can catch debris on its uphill side. Wet leaves and grit held there can obstruct the intended drainage route and keep the flashing damp. Ask for that area to be checked during roof maintenance, not only the gutters below. If staining continues after clearing, the flashing or roof may need a separate repair.
