What we do
How we do the work
Leaves, roof grit and pine needles can fill a gutter until rain runs over the edge. A clear-looking top doesn't tell you whether the outlet underneath is blocked. We remove the debris by hand and collect it, rather than push it into a downspout where it can become a harder blockage to reach. Then we flush the runs and check that water leaves through the outlets. While the gutters are accessible, we look for loose supports, leaking seams and damage to the fascia boards. You get a record of the condition as well as clean gutters, so any repair can be considered separately.
Remove the debris
We lift leaves, needles and settled grit out by hand.
Flush each run
Water clears the remaining silt and shows whether the gutter is draining.
Clear the downspouts
We check the route through to the discharge point at ground level.
Check the fittings
Loose hangers, sagging sections and leaking seams are noted while the gutter is accessible.
Look at the wood
We check visible fascia and eave edges for staining or rot.
Record the condition
You receive a written note of what we found and any maintenance to consider.
Take the waste away
We bag the debris and clear the work area around the house.

A gutter has to fit the roof above it

5-inch K-style rain gutters

Options
What you can choose
Twice a year
Start with visits in late spring and late fall. Those timings address the main seed, pollen and leaf drops, but the condition of the outlets still needs checking between cleanings.
Three or four times a year
Heavy tree cover can call for more frequent visits. Oak leaves mat together, pine needles slip through basic screens, eucalyptus bark wedges at outlets and blossoms turn to sludge. The mix above your roof determines where buildup needs attention.
Every one to three years, with guards
With micro-mesh guards, maintenance may stretch to a rinse every one to three years, with checks between visits. Dust and smaller deposits still collect, so the system needs attention even when large leaves stay out.

Questions about gutter cleaning
How often do mine need doing?
Plan on at least two cleanings a year, in late spring and late fall. Heavy tree cover can mean three or four visits. With micro-mesh guards, the schedule may stretch to a rinse every one to three years, with checks between visits. Choose the schedule around your tree cover and seasonal debris, rather than the size of the house.
What happens if I leave it?
Blocked gutters can spill water beside the foundation or hold wet debris against the fascia. Over time, that can contribute to wood rot, saturated soil and damage around the house. The extra weight can also pull fixings loose and change the gutter's slope. Clearing the blockage helps you see whether the problem is just debris or whether a loose or sagging section needs attention too.
Will you tell me if something is wrong up there?
Yes. While cleaning, we look for leaking seams, loose hangers, sagging runs and early rust, as well as visible issues such as cracked vent collars. We document concerns and give you a written summary before leaving. That lets you review what needs attention without having to climb up to see it yourself. We'll explain what we noticed so you can decide on any follow-up work.
